3rd Sustainable Nanotechnology Organization (SNO) Conference, November 2 - 4, 2014, Boston, Massachusetts

The objective of this conference was to bring together scientific experts from academia, industry, and government agencies from around the world to present and discuss current research findings on the subject of nanotechnology and sustainability. The conference program addressed the critical aspects of sustainable nanotechnology such as life cycle assessment, green synthesis, green energy, industrial partnerships, environmental and biological fate, and the overall sustainability of engineered nanomaterials. Major changes for chemical manufacturers and importers are in store on June 1, 2015, when the key provisions of US Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Hazard Communication Standard ("HazCom" 2012) take effect. HazCom 2012, which mandates alignment with the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS), adds the US to a growing number of countries adopting a GHS-based hazard communication approach.
