Career Opportunity—Regulatory Specialist—Acta UK Office

Acta is seeking a regulatory affairs professional to join our UK consulting group.  The ideal candidate will be educated preferably in the biological sciences, chemistry, and/or toxicology fields with a strong knowledge of and experience in international chemical regulatory affairs, i.e., industrial, pesticides/biocides, and fertilisers.  Experience in regulatory compliance in industry or consulting is preferred. This position will be based in our Manchester, England location, although telework arrangements may be considered for the right candidate. The Regulatory Specialist will provide support for global chemical regulatory compliance with emphasis on European chemical regulatory programs, including all aspects of REACH.

Regulatory Specialist

The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications:

  • BSc. degree (preferably in biological sciences, chemistry, or toxicology) plus 4 or more years of relevant experience, or MSc. plus 3 or more years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of global chemical regulations with emphasis on all aspects of REACH and UK REACH is essential.
  • The ability to undertake all compartments of the REACH and UK REACH regulations, including SIEF discussions; preparation and development of test plans, robust study summaries, and substance/technical dossier preparation; performance and analysis of literature searches; and preparation of CSR/CSA documents.
  • Experience in consulting and with HSE, ECHA, and EC is considered an advantage.
  • Candidate must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Candidate must demonstrate proven project management skills and ability to work independently.
