WEBINAR - - Reviewing New Chemicals Under Amended TSCA: Impact on Innovation, June 12, 2017, 12:00 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. EDT

Bloomberg BNA presented the webinar "Reviewing New Chemicals Under Amended TSCA: Impact on Innovation" June 12, 2017, 12:00 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. featuring Jeffery Morris, Director, Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics, United States Environmental Protection Agency; Charles M. Auer, Senior Regulatory and Policy Advisor, Bergeson & Campbell P.C.; Richard E. Engler, Ph.D., Senior Chemist, Bergeson & Campbell P.C.; Lynn L. Bergeson, Managing Partner, Bergeson & Campbell P.C.; Beth Bosley, President, Boron Specialties LLC; and Robert Mott, Manager, Global Regulatory, Sun Chemical Corporation.

Since last June a logjam of new chemicals under review at EPA unable to enter commerce tops 700. That contrasts with the agency’s track record of reviewing about 1,000 new chemicals annually. Former EPA officials have analyzed the types of decisions the agency is considering making for these new chemicals, the types of toxicity data being requested, and the marked change that represents from past practice. The panel discussed those findings and the conundrums facing small and large chemical manufacturers as well as their customers. They offered suggestions for companies, trade associations and the EPA. The goal: ensure new chemicals are responsibly reviewed, but continue bringing innovative chemicals to market.

WEBINAR: EPA’s Game-Changing Clean Power Plan: How It Impacts You, July 22, 2014, 2:00PM EDT

On June 18, 2014, EPA proposed the most historic rule in its history: the Clean Power Plan. The proposal would, for the first time, impose regulatory limits on carbon pollution from existing power plants and is likely to have significant impacts throughout the economy. It calls for a 30 percent reduction in carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from existing fossil fuel-fired power plants by 2030. The proposal has two main parts: state-specific emission goals and guidelines to help states develop plans for meeting the goals. The proposed rule would give states 10 to 15 years to achieve the reductions. States can develop their own plans or develop regional, multi-state approaches.

This complimentary webinar hosted by Pollution Engineering and featuring B&C’s Lynn L. Bergeson and Christopher R. Bryant, will focussed on:

  • The legal authority for issuing the rule;
  • The state-specific goals;
  • The manner in which states must plan for and meet the goals; and
  • The winners and losers in this rule.
  • What you should do to make the rule work for you
