Chemical Watch presented “Key Regulatory Updates: Europe, Asia and the Americas,” a virtual conference taking a close look at the latest updates in chemicals control legislation across Europe, Asia and the Americas. This event covered regulatory challenges facing those working on the safe management of chemicals with keynotes, presentations, panel discussions and interactive Q&A sessions. Lynn L. Regulatory TSCA Virtual Workshop, August 11-13, 2020, via webinar

Join the National Association of Chemical Distributors (NACD) and Bergeson & Campbell, P.C. (B&C®), for a Virtual Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) Hot Topics Regulatory Workshop. The workshop was held in two-hour interactive online sessions August 11-13, 2020, and was presented by regulatory experts from B&C, including Managing Partner Lynn L. Bergeson, Director of Chemistry Richard Engler, Ph.D., and Senior Regulatory Consultant Kathleen Roberts. The workshop began with a review of TSCA and covered current hot topics including Significant New Use Rules (SNURs), the high-priority chemical risk evaluations and industry fees, Chemical Data Reporting (CDR), and more. Participants were able to ask questions of the presenters following each topic. At the end of the workshop, participants joined break-out rooms divided by topic to discuss what was learned and share their experiences.

This one-day virtual conference from Chemical Watch took a deep dive into TSCA, with the latest developments since the law was amended in 2016. Lynn L. Bergeson, Managing Partner, Bergeson & Campbell, P.C. (B&C®), and Richard E. Engler, Ph.D., Director of Chemistry, B&C, were joined by EPA, industry, and non-governmental organization (NGO) representatives to discuss topics including:  TSCA fees, reporting, Significant New Use Rules (SNUR), risk evaluation and the management of existing chemicals, CBI substantiation, and litigation.

The life cycle of industrial, agricultural, and antimicrobial chemical products, especially those embedded in consumer products, has gained increasing public attention. Regulators are looking at the entire product lifecycle, including post-discard of  product at the end of its useful life, as well as toxicity data. Lynn L. Bergeson, Managing Partner, Bergeson & Campbell, P.C. (B&C®), presented chemical product regulation matters including risk communication, minimizing legal liability, and evolving policy matters.

Bergeson & Campbell, P.C. (B&C®), ELI, and the George Washington University Milken Institute School of Public Health were pleased to present "TSCA Reform -- Four Years Later."  This complimentary virtual conference marked the fourth Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) Annual Conference, reflecting on the accomplishments and challenges since the implementation of the 2016 Lautenberg Amendments and where TSCA stood on that today.

24th Annual Green Chemistry & Engineering Conference, June 15 - 19, 2020, via webinar

The 24th Annual Green Chemistry & Engineering (GC&E) Conference, originally scheduled to take place in Seattle, WA, was a virtual event due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  GC&E, hosted by the American Chemical Society’s Green Chemistry Institute, has been a meeting ground for advancing sustainable science and solutions since 1997. The theme for the 2020 conference was “Systems-Inspired Design.” Richard E. Engler, Ph.D., Director of Chemistry at Bergeson & Campbell, P.C. Value Chain Communications, May 28, 2020, via webinar

The American Coatings Association (ACA) presented the “Value Chain Communications” webinar featuring Lynn L. Bergeson, Managing Partner, Bergeson & Campbell, P.C. (B&C®). This webinar provided an overview of communicating the presence of chemicals in products from suppliers to manufacturers. The webinar addressed Safety Data Sheets, Consent Order provisions, as well as Significant New Use Restrictions (SNUR) conditions under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA).

The American Chemistry Council (ACC) hosted a series of webinars designed to address major developments in chemicals management, and provided participants a chance to engage with policymakers and other key experts throughout the chemical industry value chain. Richard E. Engler, Ph.D., Director of Chemistry, Bergeson & Campbell, P.C. (B&C®), presented during the "TSCA New Chemicals" webinar, addressing key changes in the section 5 program, and challenges faced by EPA and submitters, including information requirements, assessment of risks, and practical tips.

Navigating the Jurisdictional Tightrope Between Biopesticides, Biostimulants, and Related Emerging Technologies, April 29, 2020, 12:00 pm (EDT), via webinar

The American Bar Association (ABA) webinar “Navigating the Jurisdictional Tightrope Between Biopesticides, Biostimulants, and Related Emerging Technologies” with Bergeson & Campbell P.C. (B&C®) professionals deconstructing the jurisdictional boundaries distinguishing pesticides, biopesticides, plant regulators, biostimulants, and related technologies. The webinar focused on draft EPA guidance intended to clarify the lines between and among those products that are subject to FIFRA registration as plant regulators and those biostimulant products not subject to FIFRA registration. The webinar also focused on new and evolving chemistry and technology issues that may blur some jurisdictional lines or potentially move products from one category to another.  Lynn L.
