Lynn L. Bergeson Co-authors ACS Book “Nanotechnology: Delivering on the Promise”
The Acta Group (Acta®) President Lynn L. Bergeson contributed a chapter to the recently published book Nanotechnology: Delivering on the Promise, a two-volume American Chemical Society (ACS) symposium report that discusses advances in nanotechnology and the value of precautionary risk management. These volumes cover advances nanotechnology has made with materials, energy, electronic devices, agriculture, and biomedicine, as well as the regulatory response to these new technologies. Ms. Bergeson contributed the chapter “Opportunities and Challenges for Health, Safety, and the Environment: The Regulatory Void?,” surveying emerging governance approaches, with particular emphasis on the need for regulatory measures in targeted areas to ensure the integrity of core governance principles and provide some measure of commercial predictability. Nanotechnology: Delivering on the Promise Volume 1 and Volume 2, as well as individual chapters, are available for purchase online, with a discount available for ACS members.
