Michael S. Wenk, M.S., to Speak at AOCS Latin American Congress and Exhibition on Fats, Oils, and Lipids
Michael S. Wenk, M.S., Senior Regulatory Consultant with The Acta Group (Acta®) and Bergeson & Campbell, P.C. (B&C®), has been invited to speak on the current state of play of Central and South American chemical regulations at the 17th AOCS Latin American Congress and Exhibition on Fats, Oils, and Lipids, September 11-14, 2017, in Cancun, Mexico. Mr. Wenk will present “Chemical Substance Management in Central and South America: Insights into Sustainability, Regulatory, and Management Opportunities” at the plenary session on September 11, 2017. The AOCS Latin American Congress is held every other year and attracts representatives from more than 30 countries and over 40 exhibiting companies. The Congress provides an international forum for professionals, scientists, researchers, and students in the fats and oils industry, and enhances their business knowledge of today’s market and how to prepare for the future.
Mr. Wenk is an internationally-recognized expert in chemical registration and regulation in Central and South America and the Middle East. Through his career both managing global regulatory affairs and product stewardship divisions at Fortune 500 chemical and chemical product companies, and as a consultant, Mr. Wenk has developed direct regulatory authority contacts in, and thorough knowledge of, the regulatory and cultural characteristics of Mexico and Central and South America. He authored chapters on Mexican and Central and South American chemical regulation in the American Bar Association publication “Global Chemical Control Handbook: A Guide to Chemical Management Programs,” and is the author of over a dozen peer-reviewed professional journal articles.
