EPA Issues Direct Final TSCA Section 8(d) Rule on Cadmium and Cadmium Compounds

On November 20, 2012, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) signed off on a direct final rule adding cadmium and cadmium compounds to the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) Section 8(d) model rule thus requiring manufactures and importers of cadmium and cadmium compounds, including use as part of an article, that have been or are reasonably likely to be incorporated into consumer products, to report health and safety studies to EPA. Court Affirms Decision Preventing Proposition 65 Listing of Styrene and Vinyl Acetate As Carcinogens
